I am a student at AU and I've lived at Patio Apartments for a couple of years now. Until recently, I have had consistant problems with maintenance requests being addressed in a timely manner, if at all. The office staff was unapproachable and rude, and the manager was never professional in dealing with residents. I stayed because it's a great location with good ammenities and it's very reasonably priced. A couple of months ago though, the complex was purchased and we're now under a new management co. I don't know what the old company was doing so differently from this one, or why they couldn't get it together. The difference has been like night and day! The old issues that needed to be dealt with from months back have finally been handled and the whole staff has been so nice and accomodating. When the new management took over the name changed to Courtyards, and I think it's so appropriate- it truly feels like a totally different apartment complex! And the outside looks ten times better, too. Despite the initial difficulties that come with a big change like this, I feel like the staff cares about my concerns and wants to handle any issues that come up right away.
