I lived here for a few weeks. The management was completely unprofessional. KING SLUM!!!!!!!!!! when i fist moved into the apartment, we cleaned the kitchen cabinets out. OH MY GOD!!!! there were thousands of roaches, roach eggs and roach sacks falling out. you could see the areas on the wall where they painted over black spots on the wall. i asked my manager to have the pest control people spray. she said she would have them spray the whole building so the roaches wouldn't just run from one apartment to the next through the walls. when they sprayed my apartment, i asked four of my neighbors in the building if their apartments were also sprayed and they said they didn't get an orange card from the pest control people. one of my neighbors said she doesn't even tell them to come spray anymore because it seemed to her that the roach problem got worse when they sprayed. she also told me that water would leak into her apartment downstairs when the people who lived there before me used the washer because of bad plumbing. i could see the floor coming up in the wash room because of water damage. people played music all times of the day and night. and my downstairs neighbor would curse her children at the top of her lungs at 5 am in the morning. it woke me up many mornings i was there. she was "very nice" in person if you saw her on the street. i called the health department to inspect the place ( the health department said it was unsafe for my daughter who has asthma to live with roaches) so i could get out of my lease and the manager finally decided to let me move into another unit. she explained that this lady vacating the other unit was nice and she was good friends with this lady who was moving out. she pointed in the direction of the building i was to move into. i saw a lady moving out a few days later and i went to talk to her and she told me she had roach problem to where she could she the egg sacks on the backs of the roaches in her apartment. she felt unsafe there with her young child and she saw "a man" wondering upstairs by her apartment. she had problems with the same manager. she told me the manager would act bipolar with no medicine(no offense to anyone) on her like she did with me. so i decided to get out of there instead of taking her offer to move to the other apartment. i cant say any names of the managers i dealt with due to the writing guidelines of this site, but i will say that one of the managers i dealt with was mentioned in an earlier posting. I was spraying raid everyday and i kept all my food in the refrigerator. if we sat down to eat, roaches would come out of nowhere. i never unpacked my stuff because i was worried roaches would get in my stuff and i would take them with me when i left the apartment. the last day we stayed there, there was a roach crawling on my daughter in her bed when she was sleep. i had to talk to the manager in one of the other aspen (Aspen Trail) and she didn't want to let me out of the lease. My manager actually told me that she was a single parent and she had to live somewhere with rats and roaches and she had to get used to it when she got her first apartment. well that wasn't going to be my experience. they will never be nothing if they keep comparing themselves to the worst. you would thinnk they would compare themselves to the best. i also had a friend who moved into aspen trail and she had a roach problem as well. she moved in a couple of weeks before me and recommended the aspens communities to me. she complained to her management ( the management i had to talk to to get out of my lease) and she also acted like she was mental. anyway, my management started mixing my problems with my friends problems (obviously they talked about our situations even though they claimed they didn't) and accused me of trying to break my lease so i could go live with my friend. i've lived by myself for 3 years prior to aspen and i have a child. my friend doesn't. i did not want to live with her. plus why would i want to moved from one roach filled apartment to another roach filled apartment. i asked the manager to walk through the apartment with me so i could see her reaction when she actually saw all the roaches in my apartment and she wouldn't go on the walk through with me. she sent her assistant manger because (that's what the assistant manager is there for... "to assist her"). she walked through the apartment with me. i tried to show her the disgusting gook and roach egg sacs in the kitchen cabinets and she backed away in disgust when i used paper to pull out some of the raoch crap in the cabinets. AND I WAS SUPPOSED TO PUT MY DISHES THERE!!!! no way!!!!when i left the site i moved to another apartment and although it is not the best, its a huge step up. my friend who lived in aspen trail asked her manager to come to her apartment to show her the huge roaches she had in her apartment and her manager accused her of putting an old roach on the floor because it was dryed out!!! they let my friend move to aspen run to resolve her issues and she hasn't had a roach problem since, but she does have LOUD neighbors downstairs who are questionable. i could go on for a while and i left a lot out, but i moved out about a year ago and when i saw this site, i had to share my experience. i would not recommend any aspen community. i met many people in the complex who said they would be witnesses and write statements for me if i had to go to court to get out of my lease, but it wasn't necessary.
