BEWARE! MICE/RATS IN 2006!
I have lived in Aspen Ridge since 2003 when I first moved to Birmingham. I heard from some acquaintances how this apartment complex used to be the best in the city. I can't even begin to imagine that. I must concur, everything bad that has been previously reported about this place is true. This dump is a nightmare from hell, and so is the office staff. I fail to understand why this city does not have any regulations regarding companies who own and rent apartments. I have to constantly spray for roaches. (huge ones) I've tried all brands of indoor pesticide; nothing works for long. This is because the entire building needs to be fumigated. I live on the second floor. Every time it rains, water pours down from the ceiling in the bathroom. When I reported this, I was told by the staff that they just couldn't understatnd how this was possible. Well, neither can I. However, they did not come to my apartment to repair the ceiling or even investigate. That was in early 2004. Well....we have been greeted in 2006 to a new problem from hell. My apartment, along with two of my neighbors' apartments as well, are now infested with mice, or baby rats! (who can tell which') When I reported this to the management, I was told that a pest control company would come out and "spray" the following week. (I was not aware that mice could be "sprayed" like roaches, but maybe so) When I came in from work on that particular scheduled day, there was a card from the company sticking in the door stating that the key wouldn't fit and they couldn't gain access to my apartment. My key gains access every day. It is my opinion that they never intended on coming inside from the time they first left their business. I was so frustrated at being lied to; I went straight to the office. I was told that the pest company left some type of sticky strips for me to put on the floors so the mice/rat would become trapped. I announced that this would be my last year living at Aspen Ridge. They merely said, "We don't blame you" and sent me on my way. Additionally, let me point out, the rent here is not by any means reasonable. Tenants pay an outrageous amount to have the pleasure of living in a slum. I hope this information I am giving will save someone else from the misery and sorrow that I am currently experiencing. ASPIRING NEW TENANTS, TAKE MY ADVICE AND HEED MY WARNING! DON'T GO NEAR ASPEN RIDGE APARTMENTS! UNLESS OF COURSE, (and I mean this without disrespect) YOU JUST ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY, CANNOT FIND ANYWHERE ELSE TO LIVE!)
THE OWNERS AND SHAREHOLDERS OF THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX ARE A DISGRACE TO AMERICAN SOCIETY!
