I lived here for two years due to financial constraints as a student. It was the worst decision I ever made. The management rents apartments to convicted sex offenders and felons. I have received at least half a dozen notifications in U.S.mail from the County police about these individuals living as our neighbors. There are also many undocumented aliens living here who dont speak a word of English. I was subject to a violent crime myself and decided to move. Most neighbors are complacent or unwilling/unable to help because of abovementioned reasons. There is abundant parking space, however the parking lot is dark at night where at least 3 residents have been held up at gunpoint in the last 2 years that I know. Yes, you get free cable and some studio apartments are furnished as well. But is it worth it to put your personal safety at risk' I was told by the Homewood police that the criminals who are doing these acts most likely live in these apartments as well. Do you need more proof to avoid this place' Both East and West Valley Ave is packed with apartments, which makes it an easy target for criminal elements. Please avoid this neighborhood if you can.
