IT WAS A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE

First of all let me say that we were moving to Ashford Townhomes which are managed by the same office as Autumn Village. My fiance and I put a deposit down on an apartment home on February 22, 2003 and a move-in date of April 25, 2003 was given. After all paper work was filled out when we arrived on April 25th, we were allowed to do a walk-through of the home and it was in horrible condition. The carpet had been cleaned (not replaced) and there was a mildew/musty smell throughout the downstairs area of the apartment. Bedroom 1 and 2?s window locks were broken. The vertical blinds in the living area had not been replaced, they were broken with no way to open or close them. The sliding/patio door handle and lock was broken. The refridgerator was leaking. There were holes going down the wall up under the stairwell rail. The front lawn area was messy and unkept with some sort of dead plant that was not completely taken up. There was a hole in the ceiling of the laundry room. We were told, when we complained, that maintenance would come to fix all problems on the day we moved in and one person came to fix the bedroom(s) windows and lock at the sliding/patio door. We complained once again on the following day and was told that maintenance would return and that day and maintenance never came at all that day. We finally spoke with the manager of the office the following Monday, and she was very rude and inconsiderate to the inconvenience embarked on us. Eventually, the apartment and the Main Office staff was totally unacceptable so we asked for our deposits to be returned and moved our things back out of the new apartment. We felt that everything should have been done BEFORE we moved into our apartment. I have called to file a compaint with the corporate office several times and no one will return my calls. IT HAS BEEN A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE IN WHICH WE LOST A GREAT DEAL OF TIME, MONEY, AND ENERGY. THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO STAY!
