Barrington on the Green

A very nice place to live. From: golfindude Date posted: 6/4/2005 Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2005   I must admit when I first thought about posting a review it was not going to be nice! I was very p----d at the Mgr, Caroline. I have lived at Barrington for 2.5 years and I have never had a problem with anything. The girls in the office are great. The problem was I was late for the 1st time EVER. I was informed that I could not write a check for the late rent and I had to pay $80.00 in late fees. I asked to speak to the Mgr. she was not there but she did call me back within a few minutes. I told her why I should not have to pay any late fees and she told me that there wasn't anything that she could do for me, the late policy was stated in the lease and she has to follow some laws and she treats everyone the same according to the lease. I thought she was just being rigid and I was an A** to her. She continued to treat me nice and respectfully in spite of my nastiness. She even went on to say that even if her brother lived here and he was late, she would have to charge him late fees. I thought what a B****! I just wanted my way, I didn't care about all of that! A few nights later I was in the workout room and got to talking to another tenet, I was complaining about my experience and she told me about a similar experience, and she also told me that she was a friend of someone that works in the office. Her friend in the office also required her to pay the late fee, she asked to talk to the Mgr. and was told the same thing as I was. After thinking about this, I had lots of time to think since I was broke! Like Caroline said, it is comforting to know that I live somewhere that treats tenets fair. I am still not happy about an $80.00 late fee but it was my fault for not paying my rent on time! I am happy that the staff is very friendly and professional even when faced with jerks like me.
