Never live here again

I will never live here again nor tell anyone they should live here. The apartment inside is nice and the outside looks nice too until you walk through the grass and step in dog mess. My husband and I are still in a situation where we have sent complaint after complaint and still it has not been taken care of. There are tenants that are not complying with the lease and have broken the pet policy of picking up after their pets. There is suppose to be a fine for not picking up your dogs mess but it is not being enforced. I am paying a lot of money a month and expect this to be handled but it is going on 3 month and has not been handled yet. I have even contacted that company that owns the apartment complex and am not getting anywhere with it. I was talked to rudely when I called about the situation and have been disrespected. The dog mess is all over the grass by the 5400 building and my dog as well as other can not use the grass because the tenants of one of the 5400 building apartments will not follow the rules and pick up after their dogs. I would not recommend this apartment to anyone who wants to have to deal with dog mess all over the grass.

I live in 5300, and I agree. Also, I have a neighbor that has pit bulls, which I'm pretty sure is in violation of the lease agreement. To top it all off, one of the office employees lives in my building and chooses to smoke on the staircase instead of their private balcony. It's sooooo much fun to carry groceries upstairs to my apartment and have to wait for these people to gett off their butts, put out their cigarettes, and move so that I can continue up to my apartment. This place looks impressive, but it's not. Untrimmed hedges, dog crap, people who park EVERYDAY in the mail spaces with no consequences (I am talking about you, little silver car with the Alabama decal in the window), thus preventing me from being able to get my mail when I get home from work. If moving didn't cost so much, I would be gone. Also, that 24-hour maintenance that's included in our astronomical rent, for my postage-stamp apartment with my one closet? Yeah, it's pretty rude that every time I have maintenance issue, I am repeatedly asked by the maintenance guy if it "needs to be taken care of" today because "I live, like, an hour away" and "it would take me forty-five minutes to get there, and I don't want it to be for nothing, so why don't you try flipping your circuit breaker for the thousandth time?" I mean, really? My air conditioner doesn't work in July? And you're asking me if it needs to be fixed today? Last time I checked I wasn't from the Islands and I am not paying almost $800 a month to rent a "rustic cabin." I hate calling for repairs now. Our tub needs to be recaulced and the floorboards are seperating under our carpet (which they were supposed to come and look at several months ago) and I don't want to call because they make me feel like an a**hole for wanting it taken care of.

There should not be dog mess when there is a policy about it and being fined when you don't pick it up. I understand that there is a pet friendly policy but everyone should follow that policy and if they did then there would not be the dog mess everywhere. Obviously you don't know the area where we are talking about the dog mess. On any given day there are 10-15 piles from two dogs in the 5421 apartment and they are large dogs. It is the area right beside the satellites and garages by 5400 building. You probably walk your dog on the grass by the lower side of 5400 not the upper side of it if you live in the 5200 building. Anyway that is beside the point. The point is there is policy about the dog mess that is being broken and the apartment complex is not doing anything about it and told me they ordered pet waste stations aver a month and a half ago. so where are they? If people would pick their dog crap up like they signed on there lease they would do then this would not be an issue.

I live in the 5200 building and I love it. I do sometimes see some dog mess but that is going to be in any pet friendly community. When I take my dogs out to the same area these people are talking about, it is not nearly as bad as they say. I mean if you dont ever want to see dog mess then do not live at a pet friendly community silly. I have lived here for over 5 years and I would tell anyone to live here. Any issue I have had has been taken care of very promply. As far as the prices compare to other apts in Hoover; When I moved here, Barrington was about the same as everyone else. You cant even buy a condo in Hoover for $800 a month.
