When we first got here, things seemed great. Everything worked, the staff was helpful and responsive, and the apartment was amazingly quiet, and secure. Also, Beacon Hill is a beautiful area with a view, and right on the bus line.
After being here 3/4 of a year, I have come to hate my life. There are kids who play soccer in the hallways. There is always at least 1 gate broken. Maintenance requests aren't responded to until you've waited 2 weeks, and you call them again. When you get a package that the management signs for, they don't notify you; they just throw it in their office bathroom/storehouse until you come pick it up. The 36 (the bus downtown) is the worst bus route I've ever ridden. Constantly late and full. Sometimes so full that the driver passes you.
They claimed our unit came with a dishwasher, but when we got there, there was none, so they threw in a half-sized one. It doesn't fit the spot and just sits loosely under our counter. It works OK, not great.
There is no free parking spot, it's something like $60 a month, although it is gated with video surveillance which is nice, because the neighborhood is sketchy. There is a car with a new broken window every month on the street around the apartment.
We have an apartment facing the water, and I must say the view is fantastic, as well as the deck, which is very sizable... but the pigeons poop all over it.
Finally, I love the inside of the apartment. It's pretty big, and well laid-out. But the maintenance is terrible, I don't feel safe outside at night, and the bus makes getting to/from work terrible, so I will most likely move after just one year here.
