I was there to help my significant other move in and she never got to sign a lease. This is due to the fact that the apartment was not ready on the date that she was scheduled to move in. Two weeks before she was told that she have to wait 2 weeks in order for the apartment staff to get the apartment ready. She stayed in touch with the staff for the predetermined two weeks but apparently they did nothing at all. When we arrived on move in day and went into the supposed "ready" apartment, it was FILTHY. There was some kind of orange substance on the wall, there was stagnant, putrid smelling water left in the dishwasher, the counters had not been cleaned, there were dirty pots and pans on the balcony, the balcony door would not open, "something" was in the bathtub, cobwebs were all along the crown molding, and they desperately need to hire a new dry wall guy because the one they have SUX.
When we went to ask the staff what they could do, they said they could have it cleaned "again" but it was already clean. They said that the repairs could be done on Monday. I thought they had TWO WEEKS for this get done. HMMMMM....The staff also said that there hands were tied and would not pay for hotel or anything.
Well, we then had nowhere to go and no place to stay. So we had to rent a hotel room and storage for the furniture. We still have not recieved any return phone calls from the Property owner in Texas. Needless to say, they will be reported to the Better Business Bureau and a lawyer may be contacted.
On another note, other apartment "realtors" in the area said that they would not live there due to these and other conditions that they have experienced or heard of. Now thats PATHETIC.
