I have been living at Hunters Pointe / Cahaba Lakes for almost 2 years. This summer when Jupiter Communities took the property things changed drastically.

They have now taken away the trash pickup and have placed the trash compactors at the entrances (WHERE EVERYONE CAN SEE). On the weekends the trash is piled around the outside of the compactors and the smell is horrible. Trash is laying around on all of the grounds due to tenants littering and throwing beer bottles.

The parking is consumed by some households that have non-working cars and 4 or 5 tenants living in it.

Unless the NEW Cahaba Lakes has bigger and better things after the renovation - I would say stay away!

My nephew lives at Cahaba Lakes. He was out of town on a business trip on April 23rd when his apartment and all his belongings burned down due to a faulty outside light. The owners are making no restitution to him. They offered to move him to another unit but are now (5/2/06) demanding his rent be paid immediately. I would say stay away from people who not only treat tenants in this manner but allow fulty wiring that cause fires that burn all your possessions.

I've lived at Cahaba Lakes for 3 months now, and to anyone thinking of living here: DO NOT. Resort style living? More like ghetto. My mail has been lost or stolen twice. Leaks in ceilings, like others have complained, they just spray painted over them, and got the spray on my computer and cd player. This place is a waste of money and lousy. Don't live here!!
