I have lived at Cahaba Lakes for almost 2 years. Mangement is terrible and they are not professional at all. They will tell you anything to get you out of the office or off the phone. I recently talked to the manager about the raccoon problem and nothing ever happens. I am going to break my lease within the next three weeks. I only get about two hours of sleep a night due to the raccoons up at night fighting and running around. I had a raccoon that tried to come down through the vent in bathroom while I was in the shower. I have contacted the animal humane society and I plan to write a letter to Fox 6 news to try and bring all the problems to the light.

You have read my mind regarding calling Fox 6 about the way CL is managed and the major raccoon problems. Good luck and don't let them stick you for extra money when you go to break your lease. It's a total pit than anyone with a shred of class would NOT live in.

All of this is so true! I have written my own nasty review of this place, and thank goodness I moved out two months ago. In all my trouble with the place, I did find out one interesting but of imformation: Cahaba Lakes/Hunters Pointe has been reported to the BBB several times over the past few years. You can look it up on the website. I honestly believe that the management thinks they can just get away with being crappy and nothing will be done. Hopefully they will get the idea when all the decent people have moved out and all that is left are the crackheads.

The new management is horrible at CL, I have tried to contact the manager 3 times recently about an old event with no response, other than I'm really busy, I'll have to call you back. On top of all of this the answering service answers the phone during normal business hours, more than they do. You can not tell me that they are out of the office for 5-6 hours at a time during business hours. All the bad reviews I have read about CL are true. I am so glad that I moved out and would never go back, I lived there for 2 years (2002-2004) when it was Hunter's Pointe and had the exact same problems with raccons, although I stayed in the townhouse and I thought the raccoons would fall through our fireplace. I constantly heard them running at night. When I lived there on about 4 occassions police placed checkpoints specifically for the apartment complex. Why? What's going on over there that they're not telling tenants? I'm so glad to be gone.

I belive that we need to do something. If we all got together and filed a lawsuit for them breaking their agreement with us, then we can get some of our money back for the great service we are paying for but not getting.
