Nice appts-from the outside. Ive lived here for a year, and problems we discovered on move in day still exist. We have sent letters, made phone calls...nothing works. Also, there have been several incidents involving the police in the last year, and NOT ONCE has management acknowledged the incidents to the residents. Not to tell us they are increasing security, not to tell us how to protect ourselves. A couple times it was someone running from the police and just came into the complex. However, once the ONLY way in and out of my area of the complex was completely blocked by police activity and crime scene tape. I heard it was a car bomb, I heard it was a shooting....management refused to speak about it. most recently, a couple was murdered in their own apartment. Someone broke down their door, and shot them both like dogs. I have YET to see ANY extra security, and again, management is keeping silent. Please...if you have children, or are simply looking for a nice quiet neighborhood....KEEP LOOKING!

there's something called "getting your facts straight". i don't work at cahaba lakes, but i have certainly worked for an apt. complex, and let me tell you....you have no idea what a crime does to people who work in places such as these. when something happens crime-wise, and you work in a business where these crimes may take place, you are usually required to keep quiet for good reason. it is only right that you tell your residents that they should talk to police first. nobody wants to give false information. did you call cahaba lakes and inquire this information? if so, was the management not helpful? if you didn't ask, you have no reason to complain. if you did ask, then you should understand that they didn't know anymore than you did. everybody relies on the news for their info. you can't expect management to know it all. believe me, i have been there. people get nervous, and that is natural, but it is not right for people to give out information about something they know nothing about. if you need to get the facts straight, it is best for you to call the police dept., as most people can't give out facts when they don't know. also, i have a friend that lives at cahaba lakes, and managemet happened to be wonderful with her concerns. there have been people that have wanted extra security? for what??!! you can't stop crime from happening no matter where you go. you can't put up cameras, gates, anything to stop it if it's going to happen. and guess what? it was not a random crime. it was very personal. the people who were shot knew the shooter very well, and let her in the door. also, remember that you may have the victim's families on this website reading your comments, and that's hurtful. to say that 2 people were shot like dogs is ridiculous. you downsize their worth and use their death for your benefit so you can say your bad comments. you need to consider the facts first, instead of playing the cop with a pre-conceived opinion. and to set your facts straight, as many times as i have visited cahaba lakes, i have only seen it as a quiet neighborhood. maybe you should look around wherever you are living and see what's going down there. i bet you a million dollars something has happened crime-wise.

HUNH!! "Shot Like Dogs" I don't live at this community, but I would much rather choose to live next to drug dealers, theives, shootings, etc etc etc instead of you, YOU LOSER. "SHot like Dogs" as you put it. I hope that the family members of these victims do not read your comments

First of all, I live in Cahaba Lakes apartments and I can vouch for what -anonymous- is complaining about to a CERTAIN degree. I think referring to the people that lost their lives as 'dogs' is a bit harsh. However, the management here could use a few classes in providing good customer service to the tenants because I have had several run-ins with them and the problems are still not solved after TWO YEARS!! The police has been here several times but you can't move away from crime it will happen where ever you go. You have to be more aware of your surrondings and the people around you so you can protect yourself.For-meandubabe- to say they would rather live next to crimminals is just crazy! I have a small child and want to raise her in a safe enviroment because I have high expectations for myself and my family. It is your choice to live somewhere but to say you would choose living in a dangerous place is just stupid.
