Biggest dump in Birmingham!

On the outside, it looks lovely. But..."never judge a book by it's cover." The day we moved into our apartment, there was paint splattered all over the carpet. And come to find out, it was never even cleaned before we moved in! And there's still a "brown" stain in the bathroom carpet. Who knows what that was! We had an ant problem that finally took myself to fix. I think the apartment's pest control just sprayed water. We still have plenty of spiders. Also when we first moved in, the blinds on the windows were torn to pieces and took about 3 weeks to replace those. Our shelving came loose from the wall in our closet and the bathroom sink was so clogged, the water took a long time to drain out. We tried to get those 2 things fixed, but it took 6 months of calling, visits to the office, letters, and e-mails for them to finally fix it. The "special" coating on the bathtub that they replace with each new resident is peeling and crackling off everytime we shower. They put a new coating on it and it still is coming off. The floors have boards that bulk up underneath the carpet. We have one closet in the whole apartment. We have don't even have a drawer in the kitchen to put our silverware in. When they renovated the outside of the apartment, while hammering on new vinyl siding, nail heads came through the wall, cracking it. It has now been 6 months since the renovations and they obviously have no plans to fix it. We have had our water cut off 3 different times since living here...they supposedly had a pipe to burst. And oddly enough, every time I call the apartment office from my house phone in the evening, you get a tone that the phone is off the hook. But when I call from my cell phone, it rings. And the soap dispenser in the dishwasher sometimes doesn't open and I have to rewash the dishes. So maintenance comes out to take a look and says that large dishes keep it from opening and that was their answer to the problem. Tried their solution and no good yet. I just can't seem to say enough good things about this place. And what's sad is that they are under new management, upped our rent almost $100 since we've been here, and things still haven't changed. We are out of here as soon as we complete the process of buying a home. But our area of the apartments is very peaceful and quiet. But is it really worth it' You be the judge!
