How pathetic that Management has to sneak on to this site and pretend to be a happy tenant. In two years of living there, I never met a single person who felt like they were getting thier moneys worth, and I know people who DIDNT break their lease, who were still charged 1500 dollars in cleaning for problems they had PHOTOS of being there on move in day. I dont beleive that a single person on here who is complaing about the complex has been insulting to someone who had a different opinion. How sad that you feel that is your only option.

I hope your high rating and recommendation aren't premature, since you've only been here a couple of days. Still, your first couple of days appear to have gone better than most folks who have recently posted here. You can understand why people are moving out of Buck Horn Cove. I'll be among them soon. |

You're right; anyone who wishes to live here should insist on bypassing Buck Horn Cove. Unfortunately, not everyone has a choice they can afford.

kyleax1: I'm glad you are finding things to your liking. I think you may be right about the segregation of this complex. I live on Buck Horn Cove because they said it was the only unit available at the time that met my needs (2 beedroom, ground level). When I tried to transfer to another unit (in a quieter section) after 4 months (in accordance with the Handbook they gave me at move-in) they said they could not honor that clause anymore unless you had met the entire term of your lease (I can't stay in Buck Horn Cove for a whole year). The unit had several problems, most of which were fixed promptly, with the exception of the carpet. That carpet should have been replaced (or at least steam cleaned) before I moved in. I had trouble breathing because of the nasty carpet and I had to rent the carpet shampooer from Home Depot during my first week here. This should not be necessary, if the complex had done its job. To be fair, in the early going, maintenance was fairly prompt (except the carpet) and I was treated OK. At times, it took several calls and written notices to get the repairs done. However, once I turned in my 60-day notice of intent to vacate (which also included a list of needed repairs), it's like I didn't exist. The notice to vacate was processed, I paid the required fees (yes, I knew about these because I read the lease before signing it), but the major portion of my letter outlining the problems was ignored or overlooked. As you noticed, life on Buck Horn Cove is different than the rest of the complex. From fornication in the parking lot to urination in the bushes, from raccoons fighting the cats for food to wondering if we're having an earthquake (the building shakes a lot) you can see it all at Buck Horn Cove. Recently, several of my neighbors have moved out (some of them broke their lease too) and there are a few vacancies in the area. Even with the vacancies, parking is still a problem and folks still park in the tow away zone in the cul-de-sac. I'm leaving next week, and the person who gets my apartment will receive it in much better shape than how I received it a few months ago. I hope that as the months go by, you continue to find the place acceptable. Had you moved into 3506 Buck Horn Cove, you may find your car blocked in by folks who don't respect the tow away zone. On Hunt Cliff Road, you are better off. Best wishes to you. |

Thank you much, after looking at buck horn I decided if they did not find me another apartment I would go to another complex and they found me one promptly. Something my wife noticed when we first went to pick an apartment was that blaze hinted at what not to get. He said he had 2 apartments avl 1 top floor and 1 ground level, we wanted ground level and blaze said "Are you sure you don't want top level? After looking at the two avl locations I know why he hinted toward the top level apartment. |
