Oh Golly NewBama, we surely do feel chastised now. Thank you! I truly hope that you have a good experience here, and that you enjoy your stay. I hope that management has corrected its maintenence issues, and begins to deal with people more honestly. Good luck, and I hope that your snotty attitude doesnt end up coming back to bite you in the....gluteus maximus.

NewBama: Perhaps your friend is lucky enough not to be living in the ghetto section of Buckhorn Cove. I lived there for several months and I would rather not re-live the experience. Suffice it to say that I was "glad" to pay the lease cancellation penalties in order to leave ASAP. Several of my neighbors also left early and all of them are much happier now. If, after considering several other properties, you still feel compelled to rent here, my suggestion would be to sign the shortest lease possible, and see if you still like the place at the end of that term. In addition, try to get a top-level apartment (or a townhouse), stay away from Buckhorn Cove, and don't pay the $50 "deposit" for the gym key (you'll never see that money again). They will wear you out with excuses ("we applied it to your apartment cleaning", "the corporate office is holding up the paperwork", "we don't have a record of you returning the key", ad nauseum) so that you give up and stop asking for your refund. The rent may be lower here than at other nearby properties, but there's a reason for that. The old saying "You get what you pay for" holds true when applied to Cahaba Lakes. I was swayed by the lower rates and the outward appearance of the property. I won't let that happen again and I've asked my company's relocation manager to remove this property from their list of "recommended local housing". |

No one is trying to chastise you happyhomeowner... It is merely a fact that people who do not use proper grammar or correct spelling are not taken very seriously. It has nothing to do with whether or not I have a snotty attitude, it is fact. I do believe my friend is not living at Buckhorn Cove. That may be the case. And yes, I do hope my experience here is better than all of yours and the one I am currently in or that my "snotty attitude doesn't come back to bite me in the gluteus maximus". I have learned from previous experiences that no matter the price, the appearance, the friendliness of the staff, etc. you never sign longer than a 6-month lease. There is only so much a person can take for longer than 6 months. |

I've lived here for 2 years, it's really not that bad, but, however Im hardly ever there too. Me and my friends spend alot of time hanging out on 280, and nearby in Highland area of Bham, great atmosphere on Hwy 280 and Highland, to meet people and meet friends too. When the weather is good, we will go to the pool, or Lake Martin about 1 hour away. I moved here from out of town 2 years ago, and have met alot of AWESOME friends at the places listed above, like superior, club red, On-Tap to name a few, so my social life takes up a lot of my time. However, I am home sick today from work with this bad cold, and came across this web page. I like it overall. But again, my friends and social life consume me a great deal LOL, so Im hardly ever here to critique it and play neighborhood watch. Take care, and I wish you all well on here.
