Not as bad as some make it out to be...

I've lived here for a little over two years and don't have any major complaints. I'll highlight a few points of interest for those of you considering this place...
Parking - has never been a big deal since I live near some of the townhomes, which take up more space and house less people. However, some of the apartments i've noticed have significant issues with parking because there are so many units in such a small area... likely because people are overcrowding some of the units.
Noise - no complaints here. I chose to live on the top level for this reason. I was never able to hear the neighbors across from me.
Grounds - the trash area sometimes gets cluttered when the dumpster gets full. Otherwise, the property is very well kept. In fact, the landscape people come by regularly to cut the grass and whatnot. The only aspect of the property I don't like is the "playground" by the tennis court. It is essentially a painted concrete lot. Better use would be made if they put a basketball hoop up over there.
Safety - there is no denying the fact that there have been some issues involving other tenants since i've been here. There was a double homicide that occurred shortly after I moved in... however, it was as a result of an affair that took place. Either way, that is still a bit concerning. Personally, I never had any problems.
Construction - I do wish there was more space in the kitchen. I don't do much cooking, but I still found that there was little space to store cooking items. The layout of the apartment was good... especially the bar area and vaulted ceilings. The most significant problem I had was the insulation of the walls. The apartment would literally bake during the peak heating of summer. It wasn't uncommon for my wall thermometer to read 80 from June-September. I'm sure that was partially because I was on the top level... and we all know heat rises, but the walls seemed to invite the heat in the apartment. This would result in extremely high power bills.
Maintenance - Very prompt. Usually someone would come out within 24 hours of being notified.
Staff - All very personable people... even after signing the lease! I know many of them by name. I hope my next apartment has people as professional and pleasant as these folks.
Overall - It's not a bad place to live. Either some people are overplaying some of the issues they had... such as raccoons and pests, or i've just been extremely fortunate. I saw a few raccoons twice in two years. They are totally harmless... they run away when you get within 100 years of them. Also, I had a problem with ants on one occasion... because I kept putting off taking my trash bags to the dumpster. Otherwise, there were never any rodent/pest problems. I'd give a thumbs up to this place, but make sure you scout out some of the units first... because, in my opinion, some of the buildings are in much better locations than others.

THE COMPLEX ISN'T OVERALL THAT BAD. HOWEVER, PARKING IS THE WORST ASPECT OF MY EXPERIENCE. IF YOU COME HOME AFTER 10 YOU MIGHT AS WELL HANG UP GETTING A PARK BY YOUR APT. TOO, MAINT. WEEDS THROUGH THE REQUESTS AND ONLY HANDLES THE ISSUES MOST IMPORT. TO THEM. BC OUT OF 5 CALLS THEY'VE ONLY RESPONDED TWICE. MOVE IN AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION.
