My experience with renting at Chace Lake Villas has been mostly a good one. I have stayed at many apartments throughout the nation and most have their flaws. Some people complain about the littlest things and others won't complain unless it's something truly serious. So here is my review somewhere in between the whiners and non-whiners.

The good: Maintenance has been very quick to resolve any issue I had, one time less than an hour to respond for a minor complaint. They were very courteous not to leave behind any garbage and clean up their mess. The staff are very friendly and seem sincere in making sure you are happy. I have not seen any police responding to calls and I think there is very little crime in the complex. From what I noticed I believe they replace the carpet after renters move out if the carpet cannot be cleaned of stained. Close to the Galleria and places to eat if that's your thing.

The bad: Noisy neighbors, specially if you live below someone who likes to stomp around. Stray Cats!! I had my share of stepping in cat poop. There are many who feed them around here so they stay. I have complained to management and even reported the feeders, but nothing has been done about it. Parking can be somewhat of a hassle. The fixtures are not top of the line, but nor or they cheap. The kitchen cabinets are cheap, but there is a decent amount storage space. The standard cable tv sucks (Direct Path), simply put. Any decent rain storm and the cable gets spotty. The only alternative is satellite dish. I had AT&T for internet and everything worked fine with it.

Overall: I have been happy with the apartments, but then again they all have their problems and it's not like owning your home. I believe the price is too high, but then again it is in Hoover. Not a bad stepping stone for waiting to buy a house or having one built.
