Do you ever get the feeling that the good reviews were written by the owners of the complex? I'm sure there are worse places to live in Birmingham, but Cityville is an overpriced, underwhelming building. Thin walls, cheap construction, and inconsiderate neighbors dooms this place. It may look promising at first, but don't let that that fool you.

Thank you, blackrider13, for echoing my exact sentiment. I'm reading this web site right now because it is 12:30 a.m., and it sounds like my upstairs neighbors are running laps around their apartment wearing steel-toed boots. The noise is RIDICULOUS, and it is EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. I don't know if it's these people specifically, or a cheaply-constructed building, but I feel sorry for anyone else experiencing this, and it gives me pause in recommending what is otherwise a pretty great building and complex, with very friendly staff. It's gotten to the point where I've had to take frames off the walls, because the vibration from upstairs stomping LITERALLY rattles my walls. I've been woken up in the wee hours several times, and have had countless nights like this one where I can't fall asleep because of inconsiderate neighbors. It's enough to make me leave, which I'll be doing in a few weeks. If you rent an apartment here, make sure it's on the top floor. And for God's sake, please take your shoes off and show some respect for those living around (and under) you.
I agree, it can be loud, as I evidence by my above neighbors, who seemingly practice the long jump nightly. That being said, I sort of expect that in an apt. complex, that takes up a CITY BLOCK. As far as not having a "friendly encounter", are you SURE you live in Cityville? Those ladies, to include the cleaning staff, have been nothing but courteous and professional w/ me. I'm not refuting your experience, just saying, it's 180 degrees from mine...and oh, I've been there SINCE it opened....back when the sidewalk and half of the complex wasn't finished.
I'll agree that it can be loud sometimes. But I've never had a big problem with noise, and I live by the pool. As for not having a "sincerely friendly encounter with anyone in the office since I moved in", that just makes me think that you don't even live here. The ladies in the leasing office are nothing but nice and helpful. They will break their necks to help you with anything. You can complain all you want about the building having problems, but the staff is NOT one of them.
Cityville is ridiculously loud, and I haven't had an sincerely friendly encounter with anyone in the office since I moved in.
I live at cityville as well and it is so loud. You can hear every time your neighbor goes to the restroom. Do not live here if you like to live in a big place that is quiet.
Actually I live at the apartment complex and wrote a review. I'm sorry you've had a bad experience but I've been living here for 8 months and haven't run into any issues. What apartment complex can you not hear a neighbor at all or have a malfunction somewhere along the line? There's a very friendly staff downstairs that will help you with issues you are having with neighbors and maintenance staff that have fixed anything I've asked within 24 hours. I'm sorry you've had a bad experience, I hope you reach out to the staff to assist and help make it better for you. Sincerely, Happy CityVille renter
