I have several complaints about the complex:
1) The refridgerator, dish washer, and HVAC system are all extremely loud.
2) You can hear the neighbors. The other comments here of quiet neighbors are probably from curtousy not building design.
3) The trash compactor is usually more than full.
4) The building are poorly insulated causing power bills to be very high ($100 in the summer).
5) Parking is inadaquate. There is not enough free parking, but for $40 a month you can rent a space!
6) Not enough preinstalled lighting.
7) The gates are broken too frequently.


On the plus side:
1) The stairs are wide and every flight has a straight set of them.
2) The landscapeing is great.
3) Maintaince is fast (though I would argue not too bright).
4) Rent is resonable given this quality of complex.
5) The location is central to Hoover.


My suggestions:
1) Check out the Crowne aparments (Crowne Woods, Crowne Falls, and The Reserve). They will be more expensive, but are much nicer. You must decide if the quality is worth the extra money.

READ THIS PART!!!
2) When you go to renew your lease write the management a letter spelling out what you want (Keep your rent the same, better lease breaking clause, ...) They will probably give you a "renewal consession" to keep you around. They tried to up my rent by $105 on renewal!
