When I first moved into this apartment complex, it was known as "The Grove". The rental cost was a little high,even though the bedrooms are not very big, but felt it was worth it, the complex had a security gate(which is usually broken), the office and maintenance staff were very friendly. Then came the day that it became a Colonial Grand. I was not pleased seeing how the other Colonial Grands in the area are trashy, and majority of the friendly staff was replaced with non-caring workers. I decided stay and give the new owners a try since I had not had a problem...BIG MISTAKE! I came home to find my apartment FLOODED! The apartment above mine was vacant, and a water pipe had broken! Everything in my apartment was ruined! My SEVERAL calls to the office manager were unreturned for HOURS! Finally,I was offered another apartment to move into, that was clearly not ready to be rented out! The carpet was filthy and brown with stains, and must have been previously rented to an animal owner because there were scratches on the patio door and wall, and there were fleas(along with several others insects)!! Not even a week after being in this apartment, the sink pipe busted and flooded the kitchen, and soaked the carpet! I placed a work order call to the office, and my sink was not fixed until TWO days later, even after I kept calling! The excuse given to me was that someone must have forgotten to type in the order...even after me calling several times a day for two days!!' The apartment began to smell since there was nasty sink water dried on the carpet, and I was unable to wash dishes or use the dishwasher since more water would pour out all over the floor! Needless to say, I got out of my lease early ran and never looked back! At first the apartments look nice, but dont let that fool you, in my opinion everything Colonial Grand touches turns to dust, seeing as how I stayed there for a year and a half when it was "The Grove" and had no problems what so ever, and if a maintenance call was place, someone would arrive that same day! Don't trust Colonial Grand at Riverchase Trails!!
