I have lived here for 8 months, and will be leaving as soon as my lease is up or as soon as we find a house, whichever comes first. The apartments themselves are not terribly bad, but the office staff and the maintenance are both poor. We did find a joint in our kitchen upon moving in, and we spent at least three days cleaning up the place to get the cigarette and marijuana smell out of our apartment before we could even move our things in, which was a huge pain. The rent is very reasonable, but you get what you pay for here at CV @ Inverness. My car was broken into several months ago, and although it is not the office staff's fault, they failed to respond to several requests from myself, my spouse, and my neighbors to replace safety lights around our building. It was finally fixed after 3 months of constant requests. We also requested a replacement for the 1970's, broken ceiling fan that was in our master bedroom. Several months later, I came home to find that the WORKING ceiling fan in our 2nd bedroom was replaced, and our old broken fan was still there. Maintenance finally came to fix it a week ago, and the new fan does not work. The workout room is nice, and it seems like the staff is making an effort to build community among residents, but it seems to me that they need to spend less time planning events for residents and more time trying to deal with overdue maintenance requests. I know they have a full staff of maintenance employees, and to go for months without a completed work order request is ridiculous. I would not recommend this complex to anyone even though they have a referral bonus, because I think other apartment complexes in Birmingham have much better customer service.
