Colonial Village at Inverness

Gross Gross Gross!!! From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 4/6/2005 Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2004   My family of 3 moved into Colonial Village Inverness in 2001-2004. We eventually bought a house, but by the time we did I was so ready to get the hell out of there! When we first moved in, it was a nice complex, now its just sort of run down and overpriced. We were on the bottom level across the street from the pool, during the summer you could never get a parking spot. We were older than the average tenants, and got a lot of partiers in the complex. A weekend did not go by where there were not beer bottles, beer cans and cigarette butts all over the ground (in front of our apt) -- we dont drink or smoke and have a small child.. YUCK!! The apt above us had someone move in or get evicted every 6 months. Every SINGLE time someone new moved in, the W/D connections above were messed up and flooded us out. We were there for 3 yrs and it happened at least a dozen times or more. Needless to say, this caused mold and mildew to grow in the apt. I had bronchitis 5 times in 2004 due to this apt. The maintenance crew had to be pestered to death before they would finally fix something. There were a few incidences where corporate had to be called before the problem was fixed. When we purchased our house, we had to extend the lease for 3 months. We went to give our notice that we would be leaving in a month (which is what our lease originally said)-- we were told that we had to give a 60 DAY notice-- which meant we had to pay 2 additional months of rent at the higher month to month rate after we left!! I contacted corporate and got it worked out, but the office staff should have never let it get to that point. Office staff is fair, but needs some more customer service training... I would not recommend the complex to anyone.
