Pretty Good Deal

Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2004
I have lived in Colonial Village at Rocky Ridge for 3 years and am quite sastified with everything. I have had a few incidents of equipment failure which were repaired promptly enough. The grounds are beautiful.
I have had several apartments on the premises. I think that the 2 bedroom, 2 bath is the best deal. I now live in a one bed, one bath on the top floor which is nice. It is a little cramped at 800 square feet, but nice and clean.
The residents are quiet for the most part and I never had a problem with crime on the premises save for an incident with a paranoid schizophrenic that was committed soon after our altercation. Poor guy.
We are surrounded by woods on top of a secluded hill overlooking 459, which is good AND bad. It?s great becasue we don?t get any traffic from Rocky Ridge road, but the closest grocery store is 5-10 minutes away. We also get the occasional deer running through the parking lot, which is a plus.
Also, being only 1/2 a mile from 459 or so, I can hear a LOT of road noise at night. Since we are on a hill, there is nothing to buffer the horrific chucking of the 18-wheelers' Jake Brakes at 2:30 in the morning.
I only see one problem on the horizon. There are an incrreasing number of families that are crowding 10 people to an apartment and overwhelming the amenities. I can?t even wash my clothes on the weekends without some family hogging all 5 washers.
The only other gripe I have with the place is that they are planning to raise my rent $90 per month, which will sadly drive me away from these great apartments.
Overall, it's been a great 3 years at Colonial Village at Rocky Ridge. Due to their price increases as well as a brand-new $25 charge for water and sewer, I'll be moving on to Colony Woods or Colonial Village at Galleria and a bigger apartment.
The Colonial Properties management is actually pretty good and responsive to customers needs, unlike the management of their parent company Colonial BancGroup, which is run by the ----- Incarnate. So live at a Colonial Porperty, just don't work for Colonial Bank.
