Renter Beware

I am a resident at Hickory Knoll Apartments and have been happy for the duration of my residency, so far. I have resently noticed that things are starting to go downhill as far as peacefulness of the enviornment goes. Also, renters beware; Hickory Knoll has a lease termination policy that is very strict. You must give a 60 day notice AND they DO NOT except lease termination dates in December, January or February! This means if you do not turn in a notice of lease termination by September 30th and leave by November 30th you are STUCK in your lease for FIVE more months with out the possibility of termination - unless you want to pay a butt load of money. So when looking for your place of residency --- keep this in mind. And my experience is that the owner is NOT willing to talk with you about the issue even when you ask to talk with him personally.

As opposed to our lease being renewed for an entire year, I allow tenants, after they have completed their first years lease, to be released with 60 days written notice so long as the termination date does not fall in December, January or February(The exception to this is if their original lease ends in these months.)
As for talking with the owner, I have a qualified property manager whose job is to handle tenants issues.
