Overall, I would recommend Highland Towers to anyone who wants to live on Highland near the Five Points area.
In fairness, there are a couple things I should warn about. The kitchens are small, and they mostly offer studio apartments. If you're a college student, it's great and convenient. If you have more money, you can afford a one-bedroom on a higher floor. The views are great.
There has been some trouble with parking, but if you don't mind parking on Highland Avenue and walking a block or so, it's fine.
Highland Towers has been under new management for the past few months, and I think they've greatly improved the quality of service and have been much more successful at dealing with problems than the old staff.
Personally, I also enjoy the perk of being able to go downstairs and walk right to a coffee shop.
If you're looking for a decent studio or one-bedroom apartment in a great location, you can't go wrong with Highland Towers. It may be a bit more expensive than other apartments in the Birmingham area, but it's well worth it.
