When moving from the suburbs you are used to a certain kind of apartment living, amenities galore. When I decided to explore the opportunity to move downtown and have the "intown experience" as people call it... I truly found a diamond in the ruff!
The management is fantastic and energetic and actually takes the time to get to know us when we walk in to look for an apt. They always have greeted me with a smile and are attentive to my needs as a resident. One time i needed help installing closet organizers in my closet and I called to see if they had any advice on doing so. Well immediatly the manager said, "Tell me where you will leave them in your apartment and I'll have the maintenance team install those for you." I almost hit the roof. It was so wonderful to see that we were the important ones and to see the management give a helping hand. Since moving in in January I have had nothing but good things to say about living here. Sure this is an old building and the property does not have all the amenities like fitness centers, movie theaters, tennis courts, covered parking etc... but when i thought about it... This is a OLD OLD OLD building... people did not need all that stuff back in the day. Parking can be a problem at times but I took that into consideration when moving downtown where cars were minimal when the neighborhoods were developed.
The apartments interiors were recently renovated and have all the character in the world. A Laundry room on the property is one of great things about this building because its been renovated and it can serve as a place for friends and my neighbors to hang out. The prices to do the laundry is also very reasonable and there are locks on the door to prevent strays from walking in and using this amenity that we are offered.
I would recommend this and other Highlands properties to any of my friends or family. Their service has by far exceeded my expectations and I plan on staying until i decide to buy something
