When I decided to get my first apartment i looked around and found so many poorly managed buildings in the downtown area. Well then upon driving by i stumbled what i found to be the perfect home for me. The art decor interior design of the hallways w/ pictures of old Birmingham made me think of how many people have actually lived in the same place i was choosing to live.
The overall convenience of meeting places like resturaunts and bars in the area made me want to get out and meet people and experience the city.
Practical apts they are not... but charming they are! Being a old building you lack major closet space and central heat and air but they provide window a/c free of charge and a gas heater that is mounted to the wall which gives like a fire place feel with out all the messy ashes I went out and bought a furniture piece that I absolutely love and use as my extended closet!
The management office is in the same building and they are always helpful in any questions i have about the area. I had friends coming to town and had no clue where to take them out to eat or anything. We the Leasing agent hands me the "Highlands Merchant Catalog" which had almost every resturaunt in the area in it and menu's. So my problem was solved and we found an awesome place to eat all had fun.

So in essence, starting out in my first apartment I found what I needed with everything being renovated recently I didnt have to worry about the condition of what iw as moving into.
