I have lived at Lakeshore Ridge since March 2006. My building was brand spankin new when I moved in, so there were a few minor repairs they had to make. But, they came right out and within a week, everything was fixed.
In reading others comments, I must agree that the construction and the parking do suck. But, they are issues that will be resolved when they finish construction. The fact that our gate hardly ever works is also a negative point, but when it does work, I wind up getting stuck behind some idiot who cannot figure out the call box and sits there for ten minutes...so maybe the gate not working isn't so bad!
The fitness center is okay...would be nicer if residents took better care of the equipment and didn't let their kids run a muck in there...but the residents are to blame for that. The pool is really nice. The clubhouse is nice and they have had a few nice socials there...which no one ever bothers to attend...well except me! And I happen to think that the staff is great! They are always nice to me and the maintenance guys are always helping people out! One saw me struggling with a large package one day and helped me carry it!
The apartments are a little pricey, but compared to all the others I looked at...they are the best bang for your buck! The third floor apts. are extremely spacious, b/c the vaulted ceilings make them appear much larger. The appliances are all very nice and the built-in computer nooks are very cool. The decks and storage rooms are way bigger than most. I have ample closet space and plenty of cabinet and counter space in the kitchen. They lump your cable and internet into your rent payment...so that is two less bills I have to worry with each month, too!
The complex is pretty secluded, which is nice, but still close to downtown and things like the Galleria and Summitt. Lakeshore can back up at rush hour, but there are enough side streets to get you around most of that. And I feel pretty safe, b/c its located in a nice business area and everything you could need is just a mile down the road...grocery store, retail shopping, Walmart, and plenty of restaurants.
Overall...I would highly recommend Lakeshore Ridge! I researched and visited 15 or so properties and this is by far the best. Much better than some of the others out towards the Summitt...which claim to be luxury...but the only thing luxurious is the price!
