If your looking for a place that values your business as a customer/client I would advise against renting one of these apartments. We are living here temporarly while my husband took a job at a Hospital here. We still have our home in another state, but had to move here for a couple of years. This place was rented without my seeing it my husband, or we would not have RENTED HERE PERIOD THE END. It is the worst place ever. We have so many problems with the place, the number one and two being the lock on our front door does not work only our deadbolt, and we have to lock the door with the key everytime we leave. The air conditioner does not work, and my husband has just gone to purchase a window unit. It is 95' in here and I have asthma. We are furious with the property management, and we will probably contact a lawyer, or get out of our lease since there were about 35 things that needed repaired in the apartment, but moving in here 8 months ago, there has not been one thing done. NOT ONE. There was a guy walking around the apartments the other day with a gun in his back pants, and my husband saw him while walking our dog. He called the police, and they said it was an air pistol, still we are pretty sure he was up to something since the crime rate here is so bad. I believe they are up to about 40 murders now, home invasions, gangs. It is so terrible. I have lived in the south my entire life and have only been to one other place as bad (Jamaica). Birmingham is not the place to live and it these are not the apartments to live in.
I sympathize with the lady who wrote the email about her concerns for her family/child about mold. If you have breathing problems like myself or anyone, mold can and will affect breathing, make your allergies act up plus many other things etc.
I would suggest calling the higher ups and really giving them an earful, tell them you will contact an attorney if need be. They will probably be all you need to get something done. It is almost like having slumlords for a landlord. This place is really bad. I cant believe all of the appliances, no microwave, underneath the kitchen sink is falling apart, ruined, they have put a piece of plywood under there to cover up what they did not fix. The bathrooms are terrible, mold everywhere, sinks fill up to fast, drains do not work, no lighting in the bedroom, you have to get your own, balcony and breezeways are covered with greasy spots that are so gross you don't even want to sit out on your balcony, and it looks like a slum building when someone walks up and see all of the huge spots all over, because people don't really put there garbage out when it is time, and I am sure sometimes they forget to put it out then. Anyway the place is horrible. PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

I have not had this problem. All maintenance requests have been taken care of. My breezeway is clean. No problem with the garbage. Sorry, we're satisfied.

Second hand smoke inhalation is a big issue in this community. Vents in the apartments circulate air in the buildings instead of letting it out in the open air. So when someone in your neighboring apartments is smoking in their bathroom, they are letting that smoke in your apartment too. So if you are pregnant or non-smoker or have respiratory problems, you should stay away from this community. I have repeatedly reported this to the apartment managers and all they can do is ask the people in the building not to smoke in their bathrooms. How far does that help?

I actually love the Apartment and the area. Very convenient and nice. The Apartment has all new appliances and the and is very nice. Of course this is not my first time living in an apartment but when you stay in apartments don't expect perfection because no apartment is perfect!!!!
