Park Manor Flats

Old Building... Problematic at times.. BUT OVERALL GREAT!! From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 1/27/2006 Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2006   I have to agree with the person who posted the last comment. There were some problems in park manor flats like plumbing, but ya know when i moved into the building in March of 2004 i expected this. Plumbing in these old buildings in Southside are a nite mare at any historic property, but hey that's an old building for you. I moved from one of those complexes you find in the suburbs that had all the bells and whistles and I was over it all, so I chose to move downtown where of course i found imperfections. And I dont mind a bit! This property was built in the 20's from what the management tells me, and with that I expect those slight imperfections like plumbing. And yes the dumpster does overflow at times, simply because the idiots that own the resturant across the street hire a valet company that hogs up all of the parking on the street, inturn blocking the dumpster and hindering the waste company from disposing of the trash. With that you will get roaches of course, lets blame the idiots blocking the dumpster that clearly says, do not park! Parking is at times a B*^&%, but when they built the darn building in the 20's how many people actually had cars' NOT Too Many! But Management has been kind enough to work out something w/ the neighboring business to allow us to park in their gated parking lot very close by on the weekends, which management did not have to do! Overall, Management has always been polite and attentive to my needs and are always willing to set my mind at ease of those little quirks that make a historic building just that, historic and flawed at times! Maintenance is polite, efficient and on the ball when taking care of maintenance needs when I call them in! The interiors are fabulous w/ arched doorways, new appliances, and a fixture package unlike any place i have seen downtown and the sense of community that comes along with the neighbors is great too! There is a neighbor who happily puts together community gatherings and dinners that give me the opportunity to know my neighbors. That is one thing I never had anywhere I've lived, A True Community! Overall, I would recommend this apartment property to anyone looking to get a true sense of what living in the city is like. With all the quirks, just come to Park Manor with an open mind... This is not Kenley Luxury Apartment Plantation of Inverness (HA HA), this is truly intown living with style. I recommend it to anyone!
