Just Say No

I will make a few points on this complex:

Building/Structure
The workmanship is flimsy, cheap, and slapdash. Materials (carpet, interiour doors, windows, fixtures) are the cheapest available. The A/C units are offbrand and function poorly. My A/C unit malfunctioned for the first two weeks of my stay. A brand new A/C unit should function properly. The ceramic soapdish in the shower fell off and scared the life out of me, and almost broke my foot while I showered.
I think they hired illegals/unskilled workers to build. The fit and finish is hilariously poor.

Management
Management has changed a number of times since I have moved in less than a year ago. All have been difficult to deal with, and seem ignorant and irrational. The leasing agents are poorly trained, or not trained at all. Management is deceptive, and will not inform you that these are mixed income apartments. Maintainance is mediocre at best. Groundskeeping is a bad joke. The landscaping/grass is only cut when it reaches knee depth. The lots and stairways have never been cleaned since I moved in. No sweeping, no leaf blowing, no removal of debris has occured.

Residents
Worst of all are my fellow residents. Drug dealing, loud parties, shouting and fighting occur both in the apartments, and on the grounds. I witnessed a young woman brutally abuse her infant and preschooler more than once. Shooting have occured. Someone calls an ambulance for no apparent reason at least once a week. Residents spit, urinate, and throw waste all around. A new building has become a ghetto. I felt more safe when I lived in New Orleans.

I have only just moved here in 2007, and I am ready to move away as soon as I am able!

I have lived here for 8 months and to have had 2 managers however current managment and staff are very helpfull. I inquired from the authoritie on the crime and found that the rate in this area to be extremly low. I have as well had a few maintenance issues but with my building being new I did expect a few issues. Over all I find the apartment to be very well kept and I unlike you have great neighbors and we work together to keep down the issues in our building. I did attend the last neighborhood watch meeting at the office and got alot of good information. Maybe you should attend and get involved with the programs they offer and you can be a part of the solution to your concerns.

I totally agree with you (original post)! This place is really terrible. I usually wake up to loud music being played in the apartment next to me, the materials used in the building process must have been the cheapest available and the maintenance crew, who don't call before they come (even if you request them to call you and repeat yourself so the retards won't forget) don't know how to fix anything. The soap dish in my shower broke off as well and cut my toe, which was lovely. Luckily I am getting out of here as soon as my lease runs out this summer so I won't have to live in this new ghetto any longer. The management and others who work in the office seem very unintelligent and have avoided listening to me when I had a complaint, I believe it was just the poor receptionist who got to hear it all instead.

my soapdish also broke. I've left numerous rating on this apartment since i moved in in 2007 (summer). i can't wait till my lease is up! and i will continue to make complaints on here everytime one arises at that janky apartment complex b/c everyone who is a prospective tenant needs to know the TRUTH about ParkPlace and it's INSANITY.

THE OFFICE STAFF IS TERRIBLE, THE MANAGER IS NEVER IN THE OFFICE, AND THE REST OF THE STAFF SO UNPROFETIONAL, RUDE AND GETTO.

I can't agree with you on this particular review. I've never had a problem with management or office staff. Neither has my apartment fallen apart...
