Fair at best...

The good:

- Location is great (in front of English Village)

- Virtually no crime... and good neighbors

- FREE Utilities

The bad:

- The buildings are extremely old (dating back to the '30's), and the insects love this! I've had a ---- roach/spider problem ever since day one.

- Heating/cooling is a big deal with me, and ever since moving in i've had trouble maintaining a comfortable temperature. The water-filled radiator/heaters they use date way back and are a serious fire hazzard. Half the time I turn the darn thing on it takes several hours for it to kick in...

- Needs more electric outlets. Only one per bedroom. NONE in the bathroom.

- There is virtually no storage space in the bathroom for anything. Sadly, I have to store most of my bathroom accessories in the kitchen cabinet.

- Our mail is basically put in a big pile on a stand at the entrance of each building. So IF there were someone iterested in stealing some mail, they'd be in heaven.

- Management needs to add quarters to the change machine in the laundry room more often. Many occasions have I needed to go to the local grocery store for change because the machine in the laundry room was out.

- The "fitness center" is a nightmare. I like to get a workout in every day, and I use this place as a final option if I don't have time to hit the gym I normally attend. However, the fitness room here includes several cardio machines, most of which are either broken or are missing certain key parts. Similarly, the "universal weight machine" is missing pegs so you can't choose your weight settings.

All in all, you get what you pay for... if you want a cheap place in Mountain Brooke, this is it - probably the cheapest you will find. Even though this place needs considerable work, I think the price saves it from being a place I couldn't recommend.
