Redmont Gardens are very old apartment buildings. It consists of derelict,
cockroach-infested, water-leaking apartments. For the four years, I lived
here, I could never get an outlet in my kitchen to work (or get it fixed)
and it was the main outlet in the kitchen. To make matters worse, it was
connected to the outlet in the dining room which never worked either. Also,
it is true they control the heating. When you move out do not count on
getting any of your deposit back. Oh and by the way, they will charge you a
ton of money to clean their disgusting apartments, even if you cleaned it
already. I called to see if someone could come and look at my apartment because
I needed an estimate on how much I owed them, but I was told they could not
look at my apartment until June and I moved out in May. I was also told I would
not be charged for painting my two bedrooms but they lied and charged me anyway.
Also, when you move out and trust me you will be sure to get a list of
charges if your apartment is not perfect because I was informed you had to
ask for the list and we do not just give them out! Also I was
charged for not mopping my floors. I vaccumed every room but no one told me I
had to mop them. But, guess what, it was on the charge sheet I
never received the one I had to know to ask for. The people at Redmont
Gardens like to take advantage of their residents. PLEASE LIVE SOMEWHERE ELSE.
Birmingham, itself, is a wonderful city and you don't want to live in hail.
