Not that bad . . not perfect

I lived in Regent's walk for a year, and it is far from perfect, but not that bad. The complex is recently renovated and looks great, but that foundation is old. The 3 major problems I had were: 1)water leaking in-between walls from the upstairs apartment (old piping). My neighbor's apartment did flood from broken upstairs pipe - she was very pissed. BUT, the maintainance crew was on top of it very quickly. In fact whenever I had a problem, they were always there the same day or no later than the following day. **If you think that's bad, dont even consider The Overlook @ Homewood - I'm still waiting 2 months for my repairs. Regent's was heaven compared to this place.
2) (this is probably what prompted me to leave) you DO hear every footstep from your neighbor above me. I have lived in other apts, and this is the worst.
3)Yes, cockroaches everywhere!! They do have pesticide, but never made a difference.
As for the management, yes the new manager is not as friendly but she seems to get the job done. Katie is excellent! As for the interstate noice, again, it's not that bad. Yes you can hear it, but if you're choosing to live in an apartment, be prepared to hear some outside noice. Overall, I'd say it's not that bad, a little overpriced, and good location. If you want to live in Homewood and be close to downtown/UAB - check these out.
