Blue-Collar Commnuity

Looked at the apartment to see if would want to move there. It looked very nice on the internet and their virtual tours. We couldn't view the place before moving so we actually put a deposit on it without seeing it. To make a long story short we actually decided to lose our deposit and move into another place when we saw it.
The apartment itself is very nice. Clean carpet ,nice amenities and free water. The price for the apartment you can't beat. That is one of the main reasons we were going to move there. But the neighborhood itself and some of the people in it are ghetto. Also, it is in a commercial district. To give you an idea, across from the main entrance is a car washing place. The comment before said that there were a couple of -------- down the street. It's not a couple, there is a whole neighborhood of them a block from you and when I was driving down there a group of them almost ran into the car in front of us at an intersection. They all just laughed about it.
Back to the apartment, the outside is run down and needs to be seriously repainted. When we went to see the apartment complex there were 3 police cars that showed up to one of the units. Plus, there were guys walking around with wife-beater shirts on. That day we decided we were not moving there. The rent is cheap but the community is not a professional community, it is more for the working class. There are nice people in the community but being a professional myself I wanted to be among my peers. Bottom line if you are a college student or a family looking to seriously save money then the place is ok. However, if you want to live in a professional community that is nice and safe then look elsewhere. I ended up paying $900 a month to get the community I wanted. For some people this may not be an option so I can understand. But if living in a professional community is important to you, this is not the place for you. Go check out it out and you'll understand.
