We lived in a townhouse there, and when it was first shown to us, we said we didn't want to hear our neighbors, who happened to be some woman who took care of five foster kids. We were assured that we'd never hear them..WRONG!! You could hear those people right through the paper thin walls, no problem! From the time they came home from school they would run up and down the stairs, mirrored to our townhouse, it sounded like a TRAIN was going through our townhouse and their commotion knocked pictures off our walls!! They were constantly loud and complaining to the management did NO GOOD! Other apartment complexes I'd talked to said those people would have been evicted after the fourth or fifth complaint but River Place wouldn't do anything about it! Plus, much of the complex's property was run down: trash laying around for weeks at a time, druggies running around all over, cars with flat tires would sit there for months at a time. And parking was pitiful! Help from management' Forget it! It got to the point I was so disgusted with the witch in the office that I would drop my rent in through the office mail slot because I couldn't stand dealing with her! Behind our townhouse and down the hill was a SEWAGE TREATMENT *something* and at certain times when our kitchen window was open we could really smell it, it was awful! In one of the bedrooms downstairs there was structural damage where the wall was seriously separating from the adjacent one; cracks in the wall above the laundry room, cracks at various spot in adjoining rooms. Maintenance was not much better...when we left there were still issues not fixed in our townhouse that we'd reported two months earlier!! And yes, the townhouse was overpriced for the condition of living we'd received. Engel properties can take a flying leap! FORGET RIVER PLACE!!! BuLYzGcKAVo8MQPlcXJq

What druggies? I live in an apartment building right beside the townhouses and the only people I see running around are kids. I've never seen trash laying around everywhere either and everytime I place a maintenance order, it gets done within the next few days. However, I will agree that the walls are kind of thin. Everytime my neighbor clomps down the stairs I hear him quite clearly. It's pretty annoying.

Excuse me, anonymous, but there were at least three incidences of people smoking POT underneath the walkway to our townhouse (those are the druggies I'm talking about), there were two incidences when we'd come home and there would be two or three Sheriff cars in the parking lot because they were called on neighbors (not by us)...plus, when you stood ON our walkway looking down you could clearly see trash that would lay on the grounds for well over a MONTH...and we did call maintenance about issues that were never fixed...that's what I'm talking about....good to hear you had some positive experiences though, I wouldn't rent at River Place again if they PAID ME!
