I can't believe any of the comments before this one...

I've lived in Rollingwoods for some years now and I've read the critiques placed before this one and feel that someone either in management or some of their friends wrote those critiques because they are not true at all.
The office staff is absolutely terrible. They have very foul attitudes and are vert hard to deal with. The manager, Nicole, she has to be one of the worst human beings on the planet. You hate to see her coming ... although it really doesn't matter because she will act as if she doesn't see you and she will not speak, even if you speak to her. However, this may be the only benefit to living there.
They have one ------- american maintenance man that works Monday - Sunday with no off days, it appears. I also believes he workds 24 hours a day. When he does come to work on a request that was place, he doesn't do a good job. He either has to fix it more than once or he has to come back so many times to fix it properly that you just say forget it.
These rental units {townhomes and apartments} are not worth the money. The bills in addition to the rent are massive {electric, water/sewer, etc.}.
I truly believe that no one knows about "apartmentratings.com" that is why there are no negative comments because the comments before now are a bunch of crock. Trust me, I wouldn't waste my time to do this if they were as wonderful as they've been made out to me.
I would not recommend this place to anyone! Watch out for and avoid if at all possible.

I can agree with most of what is said in this post. Although I haven't had any problems with the office staff I can say that the ONE maintenance man who appears to work everyday is absolutely true! It takes a while before he gets around to the problem. I don't understand having one person be responsible for maintenance on a complex of this size. Especially with the complex being an older one and requiring more maintenance from time to time.
Also its NOT worth the rent. The apartments are nice, but overpriced! I guess you're paying to say that you live in what's considered "Vestavia!" And the water bill is massive and the electrical bill is high because (I'm assuming) it takes so long for the unit to heat or cool my townhouse! I've lived in a TH before and had an air/heating unit both upstairs and downstairs, here it's just one and its usually hot upstairs in the summer and cold during the winter causing the unit to run constantly.
One of the things that I noticed after moving in was that there's very limited cabinet space!! I have dishes in a box on my kitchen floor because there isn't enough room for the pots and pans. This is something to pay attention to if you're considering moving and you have a lot of dishes (really you don't even need to have a lot...the space isn't enough for over two pots and two pans!)
Also, the rooms aren't that big! Don't move in the 2 bed TH with a roommate because the bedrooms aren't spacious at all! In addition, I've experiend a bug problem! Big outside bugs (the hug outdoor roaches) have been IN my apartment and scared the living ---- outta me! I don't know how they are getting in but they do! I've also seen several other little weird unidentified bugs creeping around causing me to keep bug spray handy (which I absolutely despise the smell).
However, I can say that the area where I live is quiet and I don't feel like I'm in harms way. While the parking lot isn't very well lit and I'm always cautious of my surroundings no matter where I am, I still don't feel like I'm surrounded by criminals.
If the place was cheaper I would be a little less critical of some things but $774 for a 2 bed TH with what I've described above just isn't worth it when there are better deals out there with better maintenance and more space.

I am terribly sorry, but I have to agree. That Nicole York is one sour little ogre. She behaves as if she has got something personal with you, as if you are scum beneath her feet when in actuality she need to display a lot more respect if she expects it in return. Everytime I go to the office to pay, I dead seeing her face there, because I'm going to have to unnecessarily put up a 'tough' character to her vulgar attitude and mannerisms. I GUARANTEE anyone who sees her the first time, wont like her. She acts as if her life is truly a bitter one, but we don't need to know that.
My experience with all the other staff members are amazing, as soon as she's not around.. I know I will recieved will lots of smiles and warm welcomes which is both releaving and encouraging in good character.
But that York wench, has got to go! Eww...
Egostistical enough to even have her own last name in her license plate "YORK" .. watch out! red light turn green, it's The York driving through town.. better warn the Queen of England to move out of the way. ;)
