My bottom floor apartment started flooding after about 6 months of moving here. I CALLED AND CALLED AND CALLED about the problem, and each time the guy they sent was a total idiot, and it took him at least a week to show up. He gave me some BS that they installed "pumps" to prevent water from entering my apartment... WRONG!
All they eventually offered me was free rent, as they knew they let me move into a POS lemon of an apartment Every time it rains...EVERY TIME... water floods into my hallway and closet.
I've never seen such appalling callousness from apt management ANYWHERE. I'd rather live in Harlem than these apts... my lease is up in 2 months and I am out of here.

In rebuttal to this letter- Yes, the hallway of this apartment did flood after a heavy rain- We had a contractor come in immediately and install a sump pump to prevent this from happening again, we also had french drains installed. This resident seems to be very upset and assumes that we did nothing to solve the problem when in fact we offered to transfer the tenant to another apartment, we gave him a concession off of rent, They choose to stay in the apartment. Now if the problem was as horrible as stated above, why would they make the choice to stay in the community instead of being released from the Lease, which was also offered? |
