Stonecrest is an OK location for those who take 280 westbound into Birmingham. If you need to go east - which means trying to cross 280 without a light, you can expect a 5 to 15 minute delay just trying to get on 280. The apartment complex changed hands during my tenure and cannot provide a rating for the new personnel. The maintenance people do a good job and generally respond within 24-48 hours for non-essential maintenance (like changing out the floursent lightbulb in the kitchen) and same or next day for more critical repairs.

They do have some unusual practices (at least from a former Georgia resident's perspective) such as only one cable company to choose from - internet is only available thorugh DSL or the same cable company; utilities outside of electricity are billed through a Georgia company and the rates are high.

The appliances are lower end and not energy effecient and the fixtures are the cheapest possible - no upgrades on these unites.

The parking has gotten worse during my tenure here - perhaps more tennants with multiple cars. Most days, there are even people parking in the fire lanes due to the lack of non-handicap spaces.

On the plus side, their groundskeeping is exceptional and the noise level is normally quite tolerable. The clubhouse, onsight gym, pool, sandlot volleyball court and tennis court are all good. Also has a laundry facility if you don't have your own W&D.
