STONECREST HAS MY VOTE!

I moved here from another state in September without being able to view or have a tour of the apartment before we moved in. I must say that I was a little nervous about it at first but rest assured I felt so much better after we arrived. There is a lot of bickering about Stonecrest and its reputation. I have lived in some apartments where this is like living in Beverly Hills or Bel-Air compared to my last apartment where I moved from. I can't say to much about living here. Usually after I have moved into a new apartment I would have had at least 30 problems within a weeks time if I was living in my former city and state. I am not here to argue or have a debate about stupid things regarding Stonecrest because this site was not created for that but it was establish to express your honesty and give your review about where you live. Some people are taking this a little to personal!!! I will give my insight on a couple of things about Stonecrest.
Structure-
In my kitchen and bedroom it feels like when you walk across the floor its almost as if you are going to fall or sink into the bottom floor on the next level. It's like having a sinking hole in the middle of the room. I will say that this is nerve wrecking because in the back of my mind I'm saying to myself "I hope that this floor does not colapse on me!" Before we moved any furniture in our bedroom we stood in the living room and looked in the bedroom and noticed that the floor is on a slant. Which is very startling. But I just hope and pray that neither floors will colapse on us. But other than that the apartment is nice and comfortable w/nice amenities. The walls are thin but they are thin in some houses too.
Children-
Not sure if the curfew hours are still being enforced. Everything was good at first but went back to the same way again. I don't have any kids but I love kids and kids will be kids. The children around here are loud at times. I get concerned sometimes when they are playing out in the streets and cars tend to speed in and out of the complex not knowing their speed and this scares me. Leaving their trash, shoes, and clothing by the laundry room/breezeways gets on my nerves. Another concern is the children taking their four-legged friends outside to do their business. Parents should accompany their child if they are a certain age. I have a dog that is 5lbs. and I would not dare send my son or daughter outside with a 7 or 8 year old outside without an adult with my dog. It's just to much of a high risk. You have other kids outside playing, the dog could get a loose and run after someone or possibly bite another person, or maybe even crap all over the place when walking their pets. You can't expect a child to pick up dog poop unless you have a very responsible child. The parents of these children need to held accountable for all of these things. There have been times even when I've been outside with my little dog and see a big dog that is bigger than me and the child put together makes me feel uneasy. If I'm intimidated by the big dog then I know that my little dog is afraid also. How can a child maybe 15 or 16 years old control a manly dog that possibly weighs more than him' I've seen court shows where another dog has attacked someone else and the dog. At one point the dog stations weren't full with bags but lately they have been. It really doesn't do any good because "some" people still don't use them. But if my dog goes I pick it up just watch where I walk. You can't make anybody pick up dog crap.
Parking-
Parking can get outrageous at times. But there isn't anything that you can really do about this basically. People have visitors over night sometimes, more than one car per household, and so forth. But sometimes people parking on the curbs and in fire lanes could be dangerous. If someone was to hit their vehicle they would be highly pissed. Can't park at your front door step all the time. I mean this is a community complex.
Gym-
I went to the gym and tried to get a good workout and couldn't because alot of the equipment did not work and was kind of old. That bothered me. Haven't been in there in a while don't know if they were updated or not.
Safety-
The lighting sometimes towards the middle of the community is darkened and does not have good lighting. So it's kind of dark.
Maintenance-
Had no problems knock on wood! Except when we first moved in our balcony door would not open because it was painted over. Maintenance was here within the hour.
Staff-
Have had no issues with them. Don't care to know who's quiting or leaving or how many people works there. As long as they can maintain things around here in a professional manner and without any drama is fine with me. New manager seems nice.
Cable-
Yeaaaa!!!!!!!!!! No more DirecPath!!!!!!!! So excited about that...they are unorganized, uncommunicable, and unprofessional.I had a huge mix up upon my cable being installed. I waited all day for a technician and he did not show up. I happened to spot another technician outside that was installing someone elses cable and he was nice enough to do it for me. Other tenants had the same issues that I did also from what I understand.
Trash-
At first I had a problem with it. But now I don't have to much of a problem with it. I think that it is neat and convienient. If people can't pick up there dog poop what makes people think that people would make sure that their trash will get put in the dumpster' Then trash would be laying around the dumpster and not in the dumpster which would look like a Manhattan, NY alley and that's disgusting. Trust me I know!
All in all Stonecrest is far from a bad place to live. The have made a lot of improvements and are continuing to do so. I just don't care much for the traffic but that's a personal issue that I have. THE BOTTOM LINE IS...SINCE I BEEN HERE IN SEPTEMBER STONECREST HAS MADE A LOT OF CHANGES AND THAT IS VERY IMPRESSIVE TO ME!!!! SOME MANAGEMENTS JUST DON'T CARE AND ONLY WANT THEIR RENT MONEY. TRUST ME I HAVE SEEN THIS 1000 TIMES WORSE THAN THIS. EVERY COMMUNITY HAS THEIR PROBLEMS.
TENANTS:
IF YOU DON'T LIKE WHERE YOU LIVE JUST SIMPLY BREAK YOUR LEASE AND LEAVE IF IT'S THAT BAD HERE. I WOULDN'T WANT TO BE IN A PLACE WHERE I HATE TO LIVE. OR HERE'S ANOTHER OPTION FOR YOU GO AND PURCHASE YOUR OWN HOME THAT MIGHT BE BEST FOR YOU. GOOD LUCK!

Thumbs up to you! I feel the exact same way. Just get out and go somewhere else. Personally this is the best place I have ever lived...as far as renting.. and just like you stated, it can be a lot worse than the bickering that's going on!!! It's good to know someone else is with me :0)
