Poor management and worse management company

I will have to say in the past 3 yrs of living at StoneCrest, I have enjoyed my apartment. Yes, the walls are incredably thin, the construction is poor, and in three years the "gated community" has had broken gates more than 70% of the time (they have worked less then a month in the past 12.) The floor plans are nice, the gounds are well kept, the trash is picked up on time (and you will pay for it whether you use it or not), and the maintenance staff is friendly and tries.

Now, the bad...the management is incompitent, and the management company is worse. Since purchasing the property, Mitchel Manangement Inc (MMI) has spent a lot of money, but they are spending it without thought. Just as an example, they spend a lot of money replacing all the pool furnature so it wil look nice, but they replaced it with black vinal! It is so hot in the summer sun it will actually burn you to sit in it. That is just a singular example of the attitude. Another is the flooring in the community center. They wanted a visual impression, but utilized the least expensive fake wood you can purchase. So cheap in-fact, you have to sign a waiver to play on the pool table because the cues and balls can chip and scratch the floor. The waiver makes you liable for any damage including scratches. Don't even think of moving one of the chairs to sit in it, it will make a mark on the floor. Once again, all for show, not functionality. They want everything to look nice without thinking through the functionality. Residents, and resident wishes are not a priority. Once they have you signed, you are merely part of a numbers game. The semi-metered water is a joke. I travel quite a lot, and my water is always for a large useage. Once I was gone for all but 4 days in a month, and was billed for several thousand gallons. The internet is never reliable, and if you have a home office, good luck staying connected and the speed is VERY slow since everyone on the property shares a single connection. If you use a VPN, the network will blink and drop randomly. I have a cellular network card for reliability. The maintenace is responsive, for minor issues. Always prompt, unless it is an issue that requires an MMI company decision, and then it could take months.

Mitchel Management Inc (MMI) is so bad, they have gone through 3 property managers in less then 9 months. The current manager is a puppet with strings attached to tight she cannot make the simplest decision without MMI's approval. Not only does she not have any authority, she does not live on property, and has limited experience as a manager. It is very clear this property was purchased as an investment for MMI and will be resold (just as the StoneGate property acress town) as soon as MMI thinks they can make it visually impressive enough to turn a profit.

If you want a community where they care about the residents, and provide what they say, and have a management team that honestly cares about you as a resident, then this is NOT the place you are looking for.

If you are looking for a descent place for an ok price (rates are dropping monthly as longterm residents are fed up and moving out by the dozen) that is temporary housing while you locate a better place, then this might be it...maybe...if you have no other options...and are desparate.
