Originally I was attracted to this apartment's location and overall charm, but the past couple of years here have been miserable. The ceiling is rotting, my air conditioner is always breaking, there is a lingering moldy smell that will not go away, doors have fallen off, and the fuses on over half of my light fictures have blown. Two years ago I reported that someone MUST clean out our gutters ASAP before our ceilings and porches completely rotted away. It took them TWO YEARS to finally do it, and now it seems too little too late. I'm exstatic that there is finally a construction crew improving our buildings, but because of their unprofessionalism, we have lost many basic rights as tenants - it's nearly impossible to find parking spots, and they leave piles of old siding all around our buildings that we are forced to literally climb over in order to take our pets out or even get to our cars. I have fallen on several ocassions just simply trying to get in and out of my home. Although I have no intention of pressing charges, this place seems to be a law suit waiting to happen.

The location is excellent,some buildings better than others in terms of scenery.The long awaited renovation is behind schedule and I suspect over - budget,as work crew seems to have disappeared. Attempted conversation in Spanish with workers was comical;their license plates say Ga.,but they speak Portugese.These "renovations" are actually vital repairs ,probably to avoid lawsuit-but bet on future rent-gouging.I would not be concerned about breaking a lease. As for drug use and criminal negligence,management frequently appears glassy-eyed and incoherent as they gaze with slack jawed disinerest at Dobermans, Pit Bulls,and Huskies roaming freely about the property.The owners are easily identified. The problems would not take much to fix.I can only conclude Engel is looking to put some lipstick on the pig and sell it.
