I have lived at various apartment complexes around birmingham and this one is my favorite. the staff have been nothing but nice and courteous with me and truly make me feel like they care about my maintenance issues that sometimes pop up. when they do, it is solved almost immediately by the great maintenance staff-chuck you are awesome! thank you for providing me with a safe, beautiful place to live! i recommend you all to everyone i know!

Funny that this same disgruntled renter has the same response to all postings. Get over it dude, go back to your new, and un-named, secure apartment and read a book

I agree with the negative reviews - most of these positive reviews look like they are being posted by people who work for Summerchase. I lived there long enough to see things continually disentegrate - and I have talked to certain staff members like the most recent PM who has zero interest in my problem. Summerchase is interested in making money to the exclusion of anything and everything else. New renters have a right to know the truth of how Summerchase and Engel operate, and since I actually lived there I think I earned the right to respond to this review.

Anonymous-i am sorry that you feel this way, but i have lived here since 2007, and i am happy, and a real renter. thank you to katie, j.p, and chuck for making my living experience a great one! you should take the PM up on that chat. make your opinions, remarks, concerns known if you want to see a resolution. if you stand by and do nothing but sound off as an anonymous writer, nothing will get done specifically. follow it through. only then do you have a right to complain.

The maintenance issues are not as bad, still air conditioner problems because of age and the pool really is very dirty all the time the walls of the pool are black and the bottom has stuff floating..yuk..! the washroom is a mess and dogs going everywhere they need a pet area for sure.

Anonymous on 9/14/2009, I am so very sorry that you have had a negative experience with our amenities. We do allow pet owners at our community and are one of the few communities in the area that do not have breed or weight restrictions, however that does not mean that we allow our residents to not be responsible pet owners. If there is ever a concern over people not cleaning up after their pets we absolutely encourage residents to notify us of a problem if we for some reason are missing it so that we may go directly to that pet owner.
