Really great place to live, I lived here only a year and I totally regret not having the opportunity to spend several years here.
I looked at well over 30 apartments before picking here, after having a terrible time at both the Highlands apartments and Redmont Gardens.
This place is amazing, their office manager is incredibly nice, and very personable, and their maintenance guy is top notch. Most of the time when you need something you'll have it fixed within an hour, if its a big project definitely within two days. Try that at any other place in Birmingham for the price!
I really could write a book about this place, I've lived at many different places around Birmingham during my college career and can definitely say that this is by far the best value for the money.
You'll never have any trouble with noise, its crazy quite with the concrete walls, and the ground floor units stay remarkably cool in the summer time, so low heating bills. In Alabama in the summer I was able to get by with a power bill (including full size fridge) of about $75, with air conditioning.
The neighbors are all pretty quiet, you'll find a lot of med students, dental, undergrad at UAB, some from Samford and quite a few young professionals and a few older people. That is not to say its a rowdy place, because its not! I think Jean Ann (the manager) would probably bring her shotgun down on anybody that disturbed the peace!
I do also need to specifically mention the rental manager, Jean Ann Quinn. She is pretty much the centerpiece of this whole place, she runs it like its her own, and you can tell she really does care about the establishment. Definitely not your run of the mill apartment clerk, she really pays attention to every little detail.
The grounds and the pool are always very clean and the view is spectacular of Birmingham at night.
I had to move because I got married and I needed to be closer to the Alabaster area, but I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone considering it.
You've found the best apartment complex in Birmingham, its well worth $500 or more per month.

Only thing is you are right, Jean Ann would bring her shot gun down on anybody who even looked at her wrong. Do everything you can to please management - she is a bit overbearing.
