Awful experiences at Collegiate Hall

Never, ever, ever live at Collegiate Hall. When I first moved in, they were under awesome management and things were alright for about 8 months. Then our air conditioner broke and it took them a month to fix it. This was in the middle of the summer so you can only imagine how hot it was. The biggest reason I would not live there is because they can put whoever they want in your apartment. When I moved in I was living with my good friend from high school and we were "matched" with another girl. She was great until she had to move out. Then we had an empty bedroom and we never heard anything from collegiate hall asking us if we wanted another roommate or anything. So, I get a phone call one late August day from a guy who wanted to move in with us. I told him I wasn't sure because my roommate wasn't there, etc. Well, the next night this guy is moving his stuff into my apartment. I freaked out and had to stay on a friends couch for 3 months while Collegiate Hall had to "clear the situation up". What happened was that this guy told Collegiate Hall we said it was ok for him to move in. Instead of calling us, Collegiate Hall just moved him right into our apartment. Can you imagine being a girl and having a guy move into your apartment' To make matters worst, he liked to party and have people over all the time. We had to lock our bedroom doors when we left because he would go through our stuff and "borrow" things out of our rooms. It is a good concept they have but not practical. If you want to live with random people then you can live here but I would not advise it. Since Collegiate Hall has each person on a seperate lease then they have each room on a seperate lease which means they can move whoever they want to into your apartment, even though you have to share the living room, dining room, kitchen, and laudry room.
They also say that only "college students" can live here. Well, when you live in Birmingham you could 20, 30, 40, 50, etc. years old going to college. By the time we moved out, we had 3, 30-something year old men who lived in the apartment below us. How is that for a "college experience'" 3mPoZ6gGN6wTPgNi4L2C
