Ive only lived at the Parc at Cahaba River for about 6 months and I am not renewing my lease...the reason why is that my roommate and I requested a 12 month lease, but was later told it was only a 6 month lease. I think they did that because they get you in on a special and then are quick to raise up their rates once your lease expires. We got a 2bedroom 2bath for 875 a month and received a letter saying our rent was going up to the market rate, which is 1035, plus 150! Thats close to $1200 a month! Thats only if we decided to go month to month though...if we signed another lease it would have went up to 925. When we reached out to the office staff for a response they were pretty rude! So instead of giving them the satisfaction we just decided to move...plus the timing of the lease wasn't in our favor due to some other things. But overall, i do recommend these apts...its a very quiet area and very well-kept! They are very expensive though, even when on special :-)! Just be careful when you're signing the lease and make sure the time frame is clear to both you and the leasing consultant!

Pros- Very spacious, nice kitchen and huge laundry room with W/D connections, big bathrooms, gated community with gates that actually worked, great roommate floor plan, excellent maintenance team that responds the same day, on site movie theater, fitness center, and cyber cafe...the water bills for our 2 bedroom were always reasonable ($25 or so a month)

Cons- My only issue was the way they handled our lease agreement...i honestly believe we were tricked...office staff changes fairly often and some of them, if not all, are very fake and can be rude! The staff that was there in July were very nice then toward the end of the yr I started noticing some different faces. Oh and the parking is horrible! At least at my building! If you come after 5, it's almost guaranteed that you won't park in front of your building. The pet fee is outrageous ($400), but they let my roommate pay in 2 installments. Oh and they dont have an on-site laundry center..the apts come with the connections.

Well I did bring it up on 2 different accounts that our lease was supposed to be 12 months instead of 6...the people I spoke with didn't address it and acted very nonchalant! From day one, my roommate and I said we wanted a 12 month lease and when something came up a few months ago and I was told that it was 6 instead of 12, one of the women in the office acted like there wasn't anything they could do. So instead of going back and forth we just decided to move...personally, I think the issue could have easily been resolved!

Thank you again for your response. I hope you and your roommate will be happy at your new home. I will tell you just for future reference, when you sign a lease and it is not the correct lease term you should be sure that the leasing consultant changes the dates accordingly. We by law can not go back once you have lived here for a few months and then make it a 12 month lease. We would have to had this corrected on the day of move in. I apoligize to you for whomever did not handle this matter correctly. Best wishes, managment

You shouldn't have signed the lease!! That's #1 and #2, you got an incredible deal at 825 for a 2 bedroom. I feel like I've been raped. I won't tell you how much I'm paying. You should have counted your blessings.

Hi! I'm moving into the complex in a month and have read nothing but terrible reviews (on a different site of course) regarding the cable service DirecPath. Can you help me out and tell me your thoughts on it? Are there any other options? Thanks in advance!

cable services with DirecPath are fine to start, but try ending when you move. It's pure H3ll trying to figure out that mess
