My roomate and I were looking for a nice, quiet place to live and thought that paying over $750 a month for a townhouse in Vestavia Hills would do it. However, we couldn't have been more wrong. While the location is great, the complex started off bad and went straight downhill. The maintenance staff here is incompetent. I hate to sound harsh, but the notes they leave are no where close to even being spelled correctly. They patch things together with the barest of attempts. We had to call 4 times to report that our air conditioner was leaking condensation water onto our carpet. We spent two weeks with wet carpet. The last time, I was in the apartment when staff came to "fix" the problem. Instead of cleaning out the pipe, he was just blowing air through it. Thus, the problem returning in a few weeks. Also, management assured us that the shoddy deck and shredded window screens would be fixed by June 1, 2006 at the very latest. It is now October 2006 with nothing done. I would highly suggest that you find either a luxury apartment for this price elsewhere, or spend about half of the monthly rent amount for a place of the same caliber.
