I moved in Feb. 1 2008. Since then my brand new vacuum cleaner has been ruined due to the drywall dust underneath the carpet. Apparently the carpet was installed on top of drywall dust, and the scary thing was it wasn't new carpet when I moved in. Now management will not do anything about my vacuum cleaner, as they "typically do not do anything about that", but they have replaced the carpet in the living room and dining room only so it doesn't match when it gets to the hallway. Not to mention the ten people living in the three bedroom apartment above my apartment, and the awful parking situation. I called in a maintenance request Friday about my stove eye not working, the wires are melted, and it is a fire hazard. ONE WEEK LATER I have heard nothing. I cannot use my stove and it is a major inconvenience. I have tried to work with the management as I have worked in the industry before and I understand what they can go through. This however is simply poor management by incompetent people. DO NOT RENT HERE. You will regret if you do as I have. I can't wait until my lease is up and I've only been here less than three months.

I am not the person that posted this response, but as I read it, the tenant said "Apparently the carpet was installed on top of drywall dust,". I don't know about the person that wrote the previous comment, but I do not have X-ray vision and I doubt that the tenant does either. He apparantly found out about it, when the carpet was pulled up and replaced. For the tenant, consult a lawyer, or call the Fire Marshall about the stove issue, or read the Landlord and Tenant Act. It may help you. The apartments have to abide by Fire Hazard issues.
