I don't recommend...

I moved into a two bedroom apartment at Wood Springs in August of 2005. Although I was disappointed with the condition of the carpet and a few other minor things, I loved the community. The staff was there anytime we needed anything, and the two times we had to call maintenance, they were there right away. Because of our good experience, my roommate and I decided to upgrade to a three bedroom unit and get another roommate. The prices were AWESOME, but the transition wasn't smooth at all. New management took over soon after, but things only got worse.

Parking was always a nightmare. There were three abandoned cars outside my building for about six months before they were finally towed. People constantly park along the curbs and block you in. Not only was there not enough parking, the spots were so small that people always hit your car with their doors.

We started having problems with bugs after our new neighbors moved in with a big dog. The bugs would crawl in through the pantry, so we constantly had to throw out food. We would request pest control, but they would never come... People would walk their dogs behind the building and let them use the bathroom right off of our patio. You couldn't even step off into the grass without stepping in pet waste.

If your bedroom faces the street, you hear loud cars, music, and people hanging out in the parking lot (against lease regulations). If you have people living above you, it sounds like gymnastics practice. Then our neighbors beside us the dog always barked, or we had to listen to someone play his electric guitar.

We had problems with mold growth underneath the living room window. It took a week for maintenance to come out, and when they did they just sprayed it with bleach. It of course grew back right after since it was growing in the walls.

If parking, bugs, mold, noise, and poor management weren t enough to move out, safety definitely was. I only had 45 days left on my lease when I walked outside to see 7 police cars trying to find a man running around in the woods that had been shooting his shotgun inside his apartment. We were never notified by management what was going on, although I do have to give them credit for alerting us when someone broke into an apartment.

With all of that being said, I don't recommend Wood Springs to anyone. I m glad to have moved on to a better community.
