We just recently moved in. 2 weeks after we moved in, there was a shooting in the building next to us. Not at night, in broad daylight. I contacted the office the following business day to let them know that we were concerned. I was assured this would be taken care of and that it was "an accident". I am sorry, someone shooting into an apartment is not an accident. I have 2 small children and can't let them go outside for fear of they could have been hit with a flying bullet. There have been vehicles broken into. I still can't let my children outside to play because of people on balconies carrying on and cursing. I do not expose my children to such behavior. This is not a family oriented community. They do not even have a play ground for kids to play. The pool is closed on Monday's for cleaning. I believe the pool should be cleaned every morning due to there always being people at it during the week and on weekends and alot of children in it. You mean to tell me that everyone gets out to use the bathroom. Not very sanitary if you ask me. Pets are suppose to be on leashes, but there are a few pets that roam freely. Our lease stated 2 vehicles per apartment, we can barely park near our building b/c of the lack of parking and one particular apartment has 3 vehicles for 2 people and they are not considerate enough to park the "spare" vehicle further from the building. Like I said, I have 2 small children so you should know what I mean.
The only positive thing that I can say is the Maintenance Service. I have had to call maintenance for a few things that needed fixed and they came the same day and left a slip for whatever they repaired.

I lived there 7 months ago and it wasn't that bad. It's Foley for godsake. HAHA, what do you want management to do about gunfire in the complex (that's nicer) next you you? What is that old lady gonna do and why should she have to give an explanation for it? I will admit that with all of the new complex's coming up around they will need to lower their rates a lot to stay competitive. Most of the brand new places being built charge the same or less for rent.

The shooting was IN THE BUILDING NEXT to the building that we were living in, NOT THE COMPLEX!!! There is something that could have been done. I used to manage apartment complexes also. I take it you do not have kids OR you would understand and would feel the same.
